In a devastating incident in Northern California, a mountain lion attack has left one person dead and another injured. The tragedy unfolded as two brothers, aged 18 and 21, were out antler shed hunting in Georgetown. According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the younger brother bravely contacted 911 after being separated from his sibling during the attack.
Deputies swiftly responded, discovering the mountain lion near the older brother and firing shots to scare it off. Despite their efforts, the 21-year-old succumbed to his injuries, while the 18-year-old suffered traumatic injuries to his face and was hospitalized. While mountain lion attacks on humans are rare, this tragic event underscores the importance of wildlife awareness and safety precautions, especially in remote areas.
