“Jewish Day School in Toronto Targeted by Gunfire on Yom Kippur, Raising Security Concerns”

A Jewish day school in Toronto, Bais Chaya Mushka Elementary School, was targeted by gunfire on Friday night during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. This marks the second attack on the school this year, following an incident in May when two men fired rounds at the building. Fortunately, the school was empty at the time of the recent attack, which occurred around 4:05 a.m., and no injuries were reported, though the building sustained damage. Toronto Police have expressed solidarity with the Jewish community, acknowledging the fear and pain this incident causes, particularly on such a sacred day. These acts of violence have heightened concerns over the safety of Jewish institutions in the city, reinforcing the need for continued vigilance and support.
